It’s always exciting when I see a new Black-owned establishment trying to do something healthy for the neighborhood. Sandwiched between a dollar store and your typical junk-food bodega is Harlem’s Sugarhill Java & Tea Lounge. It’s exposed-brick interiors lined with 1940’s photographic prints was a welcome retreat from the madness outside. When you stop by grab a $1 home-made iced tea. It’s got a little something extra (maybe a hint of vanilla?) that makes it an extra treat!
