The Pinkberry phenom.

I always knew it was too good to be true. Last week after our evening at the spa, Sewai, Alana, and some of the bridal party headed over to Pinkberry for a frozen yogurt dose. I didn’t grab a cup, because I honestly didn’t see what the big deal was. As the girls luxuriated in their yogurt and fruit chunks Alana exclaimed–“it’s just so good. So fresh, and healthy.” I took a few spoonfuls of Sewai’s cup. It was ok, I guess. It was frozen yogurt. Well a few scientists have done some tests to discover just how good Pinkberry is.

The ingredients list for Original Pinkberry has 23 items. Skim milk and nonfat yogurt are listed first, then three kinds of sugar: sucrose, fructose and dextrose. Fructose and maltodextrin, another ingredient, are both laboratory-produced ingredients extracted from corn syrup.

What Makeda has taught me is that fructose is put into most of the food we eat–from juice drinks to bread- and it’s a silent killer. I’m posting this in the beauty section because what we put inside our bodies truly determines how we look on the outside. Makeup and creams are just additional “helpers”.

  1. Thanks for posting this. I guess most of the alleged healthy food we see or hear about contains at least one or two chemicals that make them just as bad for us. That’s such a bummer….. but I’ll stick to just the fruit.
