Oh, what a night! I wanted to catch more fashionistas in action, but I was buzy getting my Fash-on myself! First, I stopped of by H&M in Herald Square, which was madness. Followed by Macy’s which was another beast. I decided to head downtown, where I met Lavish listings editor Dominique Brown to pound the Soho streets. Big Mission: The Rachel Rachel Roy pop up store. But, I digress.
I popped by Prada for my first little cocktail, and then hoofed it over to Mango to enter their wardrobe giveaway, and try on some baubles. I was mesmerized by this crazy cluster of gems on this ring:
I remember the first time I stepped into a Mago store on Rue Rivoli in Paris. I fell in LOVE with the reasonably-priced gems there, and here, I did the same. I had to have it!
The music was blasting, drinks were flowing, and the stores were especially buzzing. Was it the drinks or the clothes? Below, the Mango store:
The party was really pumping inside the Lucky Brand store. They were offering tons of food (sliders, drinks, chips, mini hot-dogs??!) and they had an on-site silk-screener creating “Luck” shirts inspired by the Love Sculture by artist Robert Indiana.
At the Rachel Roy pop up store on Spring St, the Good Humor Man was handing out cold treats and Estelle’s musical beats. When I got here, the line was just ridiculous, so I passed it on temporarily. But don’t worry, we’ll get there!
Next stop was Osklen. I had to come to the Brazil-themed party, if only for the caprainas and the samba. You could here the drums throughout the streets as people got their party on. It was like Carnival in NYC again! But onto the clothes:
I loved the chic industrial look- minimal, but the range of textures and materials make the clothes exciting. I enjoyed some of the jewelry pieces as well:
This grey embellished sweater was one of my favorites:
The members of Harlem Samba Ensemble rocked the streets of Soho:
I wanted to go to Chanel to try and get a mini mani. Good luck with that, Tatiana.
The line was like, 50 deep, so I just observed.
DJ Beverly Bond was holding it down on the ones and twos for the eclectic crowd inside Chanel.
Club Monaco was handing out sweet cupcake treats to visitors:
Kirna Zabete always has cute (if expensive) clothes and displays.
This green perforated laptop case is covetable. Puts my plain black waterproof case to shame.
Lavish listings editor Dominique Brown spotted these adorable sculptural Azzedine Alaïa booties at Kirna. On sale too!
Up close and personal with Rachel Roy. More on that later…
