#SagsSoBlack

Round of applause to Idris Elba for scooping not one, but two SAG Awards for his roles in Luther, and Beasts of No Nation; For Queen Latifah’s role in Bessie; For Uzo Aduba’s role in Orange is the New Black; and for Viola Davis in How to Get Away With Murder. All are favorites of mine, and I’m glad that these talented Black artists are getting their shine.

Lights, Camera, Action: NAACP Red Carpet + Style Winners

Big Winner: Kerry Washington, Best Actress for Scandal, and Best Drama Series
While the big stories are Kerry Washington’s adorable baby bump and Lupita Nyong’o snagging a win for Best Supporting Actress, I was disappointed not to have seen Angela Bassett. I thought she did a wonderful job in the underrated film Black Nativity, and no one ever really talked about it. All the pics from the Red Carpet and audience are on Facebook. Indulge.
