Nate Hill, donning a dolphin mask and white uniform deals candy crack in Brooklyn

A Brooklyn performance artist has drawn th ire of local residents by posing as a crack dealer-candy crack, that is. Every other Saturday, Nate Hill stands on the corner, in costume, and hands out pieces of rock candy. Customers can call in and get deliveries of the candy crack. Absurd, right?

Every other Saturday night, Nate Hill delivers $1 bags of “crack” – really crystallized sugar – to anyone in Williamsburg and Greenpoint who calls in an order.

Dressed in a white tuxedo and a white dolphin headpiece, he shows up between the hours of 10 p.m. and 2 a.m., just like a many real drug pushers.

I personally don’t find it amusing, or art for that matter, especially when the real thing claims so many lives of young Black people, and creates a deadly cycle of poverty and dependence in these communities. Shame on you, Nate.
