This past weekend, I had a horrible vision. With all of the excitement surrounding the Democratic Presidential nominees and the surge in Obama support, I couldn’t help but wonder what would happen if Barack Obama were to be assassinated. I thought of the image of hope that John F. Kennedy presented to the public; he was young, handsome, and smart, providing a refreshing appeal to the American people. I see these same qualities in Obama. I immediately thought of the dark images of Jackie Kennedy, and Coretta Scott King, in black veils, their young children beside them. I pictured a somber Hillary Clinton, Vice President, taking the podium in the Washington conference room, visibly shaken, but taking control in her usual stance. As morbid as this may sound, I am not the only one with this fear on my mind.
